Andrew C. Hyland is a senior principal at Port City Architecture and a licensed architect in Maine and New Hampshire. Since joining the firm as a partner in 1995, Andy has led a wide range of projects across Maine, with a particular focus on public safety, higher education, laboratories, commercial, and residential design.

With over 30 years of experience in architectural planning, project management, and design, Andy is best known for his leadership in public safety architecture. He continuously stays ahead of evolving codes and innovations in energy-efficient building techniques to ensure each project meets modern demands while staying within budget.

Andy oversees internal team coordination and external contractor collaboration, ensuring that every Port City project—from schematic design and site planning to construction documentation and permitting—is executed with precision, community engagement, and long-term functionality in mind.

He is also deeply involved in civic and professional organizations, contributing to the architectural community through leadership, board service, and ongoing education.

Lita Anne Semaru is a licensed architect and principal at Port City Architecture, with over 25 years of experience in the planning and design of higher education, municipal, and commercial facilities. She is known for her collaborative style and for guiding clients from early programming and concept development through final construction oversight.

Lita brings a methodical and research-driven approach to every project. Her deep expertise in space programming helps clients achieve functional, efficient designs that stay within budget and anticipate future needs. Her strength lies in distilling complex requirements into clear design solutions that serve users and support long-term value.

A strong advocate for sustainability, Lita integrates green building practices and LEED-certified strategies into every project. Her commitment to environmental health and wellness is reflected in buildings that are energy-efficient, durable, and people-centered.
