The Shops at Falmouth Village

The Shops at Falmouth Village is a master plan design of four multi-tenant retail buildings interconnected with paths and landscaping.  The concept integrated the project with the nearby town buildings and sports complexes. This created a livable pedestrian oriented town center with both National and Local retail tenants.  The project included the fit out of many spaces, including Ricettas, Staples and Books Etc.

Stop and Shop - Kennebunk, ME

Staples - The Shops at Falmouth Village

The standard Staples prototype was significantly altered on the exterior to conform to the strict “Village Design Guidelines,” adopted by the town of Falmouth for their village center.  Traditional New England design elements were successfully incorporated into the “large box” retail concept to provide regional character and human scale.

Books Etc. - The Shops at Falmouth Village

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but equally lively and exciting.  The flickering flames and plush seating invite the adults to sit and relax.  Children can disperse out into the children’s area where they can read and play.  Along with the casual ambiance, a coffee house is connected to add a little flavor to the comfortable setting.

Pinetree Shopping Center - Portland, ME

This project consists of two approximately 10,000 sq. ft multi tenant retail structures located with the Pine Tree Shopping Center.  This is one of the oldest shopping centers in the state and is located at 1080 Brighton Avenue in Portland, Maine.  The center has been somewhat revived by the addition of a Lowe's home improvement center.  Port City Architecture provided permitting services for Lowe's and is continuing to provide construction administration and fit out services for the remaining structures.

Ricetta's Brick Oven Pizzeria - Falmouth, ME

The first freestanding prototype for Ricetta’s Brick Oven Pizzeria was designed with open wood trusses and organized through freestanding, timber framed dividers, in-filled with steel mesh and threaded rod.  Low voltage cable lighting provides a contrasting, warm, intimate family dining atmosphere.  New locations are planned for 2002 and 2003.

Portland Pie Company - Portland

Wendy's - Falmouth, ME

Wendy’s International retained Port City Architecture to design three of their non-prototypical restaurant locations in Maine.  The Falmouth location combines the standard Wendy’s floor plan with a New England vernacular exterior.

Payne Road Plaza - Scarborough, ME

The once tired and outdated façade of the Payne Road Plaza now signifies the meaning of shopping.  Port City Architecture cleaned and modernized the shopping complex, which now glows with value.  The project was carefully organized so that businesses could continue to provide service to their customers while the renovations were taking place.

Liberty Gates Retail - Pitsburg, PA

Liberty Gates is a development project, which will have a variety of uses including housing, retail and dining.  Currently the developer is working with a national firm to anchor the project.  The goal is to take the high-rise apartment building and bring it down to human scale, providing affordable, elderly housing.
