Town of Falmouth, Police Station

Port City Architecture was commissioned to design the new 8,000 SF Falmouth Police Station. The station was designed to accommodate all of the departments needs including a vehicle maintenance garage. Sustainability was a major contributing factor in the design of the Police Station as it became Maine's first LEED Silver certified Public Safety building.

Saco Fire Station

Port City Architecture provided programming, design, construction and administration services for the 22,000 SF Saco Fire Station. Blending the new with the old, the traditional brick facade encloses a highly advanced and sustainable building. It was awarded a LEED Silver Certification. Some of the sustainable features include geothermal wells that provide heating and cooling to the building, solar panels that provide domestic hot water and LED lighting on both the interior and exterior site fixtures.

Sanford Police Station

Port City Architecture provided feasibility studies for the Sanford Town Hall which, at the time, housed all of the town's municipal offices. Following the completion of this study, Sanford brought Port City Architecture back on board to design a new Police Station. The station was designed to accommodate all of the needs of the department, including administrative offices, a dispatch center that could manage and address the entire county, a training room, a gym and locker rooms, a prisoner processing area and a three bay sally port.

City of Lewiston, Public Library

Port City Architecture completed Phase II of the Lewiston Public Library.  This phase consisted of the completion of the second and third floors including the creation of the Children’s area.  Port City Architecture wanted to create a destination within the library for the children to explore books and knowledge, and to reinforce their creative minds.  Designated areas will be established for the allowance of a diverse activity setting, including a castle for story time.

Town of Falmouth, Fire Station

Port City Architecture was selected to renovate and design additions to the now 25,000 SF Falmouth Fire Station. The addition included adding a large bay to accommodate the latest equipment and an on-site training facility while both interior and energy inefficiencies were renovated throughout the building.

Town of Sanford, Municipal Building Renovations

Port City Architecture is proud to have been selected for this project. Port City Architecture provided full service programming, space needs assessment and growth potential evaluation for the Town of Sanford Municipal offices and Police Station currently housed in the Sanford Town Hall and Town Hall Annex.   Port City Architecture provided two alternative plans along with cost estimates to the advisory committee.  Finally, we worked with the advisory committee to develop a final recommendation and report to present to the Town Council.

Town of Belgrade, Community Center

This recreational facility for the Town of Belgrade was constructed on the shore of Great Pond.  The front of the building overlooks the water and follows the vernacular architecture of the Belgrade Lakes Region. This style is reflected in the stone entrance, shingle siding and exposed beams.  The facility includes a full gymnasium, a social room with a stone fireplace, a library, a full kitchen and a 120’ wrap around porch.

City of Portland, Riverside Golf Course Maintenance Building

Port City Architecture was commissioned to design the Maintenance Building for the Riverside Golf Course by the Director of Ground and Maintenance, Dave DeAndrea.  The 5,000 square-foot building replaced the existing antiquated facility and doubled the amount of area allotted for equipment storage.

Town of Rumford, Fire Station

Port City Architecture design an aesthetically pleasing fire station and made sure that all of the safety factors were securely assessed.  The new structure conforms to all of the current safety and building codes and regulations, which the old structure did not.  There is now adequate parking available as well as a new public lobby for security and liability situations.  The project is in the funding stage.
